Boards and Commissions

Dublin City Council is now accepting applications for appointment to the following boards and commissions Personnel Board of Review.   Descriptions of the duties of the boards and commissions can be found below.

All board and commission applicants are required to be a resident of the City of Dublin and a registered voter.  The deadline for submission of applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 26.  In order to be considered for appointment, applicants must be available for an evening interview on Tuesday, April 6 or Wednesday, April 7.

City Council has established advisory boards and commissions to allow citizens to participate in Dublin Government. More than 50 Dublin residents participate, providing recommendations to City officials on a variety of issues. Council reviews applications and conducts interviews with candidates as part of the selection process, which begins in the first quarter of each year. Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA)

Consists of one representative who serves a three-year term on the Board of the Central Ohio Transit Authority, consistent with the rotation for representation for suburban communities as established in the COTA bylaws. The vision of the Central Ohio Transit Authority is to be the region’s transportation leader. The Central Ohio Transit Authority is committed to excellence in serving its stakeholders -- customers, employees and taxpayers. COTA delivers quality transportation services and conducts business courteously, safely, ethically and reliably. COTA demonstrate leadership that is fiscally responsible and environmentally conscientious.

Dublin Arts Council

Consists of one citizen representative who serves a two-year term on the Board of the Dublin Arts Council and periodically reports back to the City Council relevant accomplishments and issues. City Council also appoints a Council Member to serve on the Board. The Dublin Arts Council strives to encourage the appreciation, participation and accessibility of the fine arts through programming and the Art in Public Places program.

Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau

Consists of two representatives who serve a three-year term on the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau and who periodically report back to the City Council relevant accomplishments and issues. The Bureau's mission is to identify and pursue opportunities to attract, service and retain overnight visitors to the City of Dublin.

Dublin Foundation

Consists of one representative to the Dublin Foundation who attends their meetings and periodically reports back to the City Council relevant accomplishments and issues. The Dublin Fund was established to support non-profit educational, social service, health, recreational, cultural and civic organizations in the Dublin area.

Leadership Dublin

Consists of one representative who serves a three-year term on the Board of Leadership Dublin and who periodically reports to the City Council relevant accomplishments and issues. The vision of Leadership Dublin is to empower people to better the community, with a mission of preparing leaders for effective community involvement.

Personnel Board of Review

Consists of three citizen members not holding any other office, appointment or employment with the municipality who serve three-year terms. Hears appeals from City employees, as authorized by the Dublin Code of Personnel Practices and Procedures, and Dublin City Schools employees, where authorized by applicable state or local law.

Planning and Zoning Commission

Consists of seven citizen members who serve four-year terms. Advises City Council on land use, planning issues and proposed Zoning Code amendments. Also reviews zoning and conditional use matters, plats and development plans.

Records Commission

Consists of representatives appointed by the City Manager, the Director of Finance, the Law Director, and a citizen appointed by City Council to serve a three-year term. Identifies and preserves the City's historical records and documents for the future.

Tax Board of Review

Consists of three citizen members. Terms have no expiration date. Hears and rules on appeals stemming from any rulings or decisions made by the tax administrator.
