Dublin Health Care Facilities

The City of Dublin does not sponsor or endorse any of the facilities listed. This list is provided simply as a reference to the community.

Hospitals

The Greater Columbus region supports 19 hospitals with a combined total of more than 6,000 beds. Many of these facilities are easily accessible from Dublin:

  • Opening in late 2007, OhioHealth's Dublin Methodist Hospital will be located in Dublin at U.S. 33/S.R.161 and Avery Muirfield Drive.

  • OhioHealth's Riverside Methodist Hospital (northwest Columbus) and Grant Medical Center (downtown Columbus). Doctors Hospital, with two locations, is the largest osteopathic teaching facility in the nation.

  • Mount Carmel Health System offers several hospital locations throughout the Columbus metropolitan area, including St. Ann's Hospital in nearby Westerville.

  • Children's Hospital in Columbus is the nation's second largest children's health care institution. Children's Hospital conducts research on childhood illnesses and specializes in burn treatment. The new R. David Thomas Asthma Clinical Research Center (at Children's Hospital) will be one of only five such research centers in the U.S. In 1998, Children's Hospital was named a Child Health Research Center by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and received a $1.7 million NIH research grant.

  • The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, a major referral center for Ohio and the Midwest, ranked in the top two percent of the nation's best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report (July 19, 1999) for the eighth year. Physicians trained in 40+ specialties treat more than 2,000 people daily.

  • The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at the Ohio State University in Columbus is one of only 23 such facilities authorized by the National Cancer Act. The James was ranked the number one hospital in Ohio for the treatment of cancer by U.S. News & World Report (July 19, 1999).

Additional hospitals are located throughout the metropolitan area.

Health Centers/Urgent Care

  • Nationwide Children's Hospital Close to Home Health Care Center, serving area children with after-hours urgent care, lab, radiology, guidance services and community education.

  • Dublin Health Center/OhioHealth opened in October 2000, and offers urgent care, physical therapy, lab and imaging services.

  • Mount Carmel Wedgewood in northwest Columbus near Dublin provides primary care, outpatient/ambulatory surgery, a women's health center and diagnostic center. The center also houses Wedgewood Urgent Care, staffed by board-certified emergency room physicians.

  • Grant/Riverside Urgent Care - Dublin, Advanced healthcare for Dublin. Urgent care (9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week)

  • OSU Dublin Sports Medicine & Family Health provides a sports medicine approach to health care for the entire family.

  • Scioto Urgent Care is one of central Ohio's leading urgent care facilities. Located in historic Dublin (in the Dublin Medical Mall) the urgent care center has been treating patients since early 2004.

Immunizations

As a community service, the City of Dublin and Franklin County Board of Health offer immunizations against all childhood and some adult diseases the first Wednesday of every month from 10 - 11:45 a.m. and 1 - 3 p.m. at the Dublin Community Recreation Center.

Dublin Counseling Center

For 20 years, the Center has offered community-based mental and emotional health information/support services and substance abuse (alcohol and drugs) counseling to those who live and work in and near Dublin, regardless of ability to pay. The Center also administers off-site programs for youth, adults and older adults.

Pharmacia & Upjohn Center for Health Information

This free health resource library with reference tools such as pamphlets, videos, CD-ROMs, health journals, newsletters, books and anatomic models provides information about health conditions and

treatment. The Center, located at Stoneridge Medical Center in Dublin, is affiliated with The Ohio State University.

Hope's Boutique

Also located at Stoneridge Medical Center, Hope's Boutique is a project of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. This specialized shop for women brings together personalized services and products such as wigs, scarves, prosthetic fittings, clothing, makeup consultations and more.
