City ‘tweeting,’ developing social media presence

Looking for the latest news about the city? Look no further than your computer and cell phone.

The City of Dublin Division of Community Relations is using Twitter, a free micro-blogging service that lets you send short updates to your user page, to expand its communications efforts to the community.

By signing up for Twitter, residents can receive very brief - 140 characters or less - headlines about City activities. Updates have included highlights about City Council actions, road closures, power outages and changes to Dublin Community Recreation Center hours.

The City also offers e-Newsletters, tailored to individuals’ specific interests, ranging from recreation offerings to Historic Dublin updates, road closures to information from the Division of Police.
