Metro Place to Upgrade Bike Paths and Street Lights

Metro Map

Metro Place North & South will be getting a facelift with the installation of state-of-the-art Light Emitting Diode (LED) street lights and new bike paths as the City of Dublin begins a construction improvement project on Monday, July 19 that will enhance and improve the Metro Place corporate community.

The improvements include:

  • The construction of 5,100 linear feet of new bike path along the outside perimeter of Metro Place Drive that will connect to existing bike paths along Frantz Road.

  • The removal of AEP-owned street lights and the installation of 34 Dublin standard, state-of-the art LED street lights.

  • Road resurfacing along the entire Metro Place North & South loop in conjunction with spot curb & gutter removal and replacement. During the milling and repaving operation, Metro Place will be temporarily converted to a one-way road. This is expected to last for approximately three weeks.

  • The reconstruction of all drive entrances along the outside of the loop.

The contractor awarded this project, Columbus Asphalt Paving, is required to maintain access to properties at all times. Properties with a single driveway will be reconstructed one-half section at a time. Properties with multiple driveways will have no more than one driveway closed at a time. During special events, such as the Dublin Irish Festival and the CAN AM Games in August, the contractor is required to maintain full access to all properties.

At some point during the project, COTA will be reversing direction of transportation flow as the bus stop will be moved from the inside of the loop to the outside. The City of Dublin will update residents, Metro employees and visitors on these changes before they occur.
