2010 St. Patrick's Day Celebration
Parade Rules & Regulations
Parade marshals will be posted along the parade route to ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators and to keep spacing between units consistent.
-
The applicant shall be responsible for the conduct of all of its participants and agrees to notify ALL participants of these rules and regulations.
-
Candy or other items being passed out must be handed to the crowd at the curb. No throwing is permitted. Please distribute candy HAND-TO-HAND by walking along the parade route next to spectators since it is very dangerous for spectators to run into the street for candy or other hand-outs.
-
Drivers and all vehicles participating in the parade must have insurance as required by the State of Ohio. Drivers must also possess a valid driver’s license.
-
Owner must follow up with their vehicle's manufacturer or the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/) to confirm that the vehicle entered in the parade has not been identified to have mechanical defects. The owner warrants that the vehicle is in sound mechanical condition with no known defects or safety concerns.
-
Parade entries must line up in the space they have been assigned.
-
Because space is given based on the entry forms, units may not change their entry without approval.
-
Parade units must be less than 13’ 6” in height.
-
During the parade, driver must maintain 50 feet from the preceding unit.
-
No one may step on or off a float or any motorized unit until it is at a COMPLETE stop.
-
No alcohol or glassware is allowed in the parade. Bottled water and cans of soda are permitted.
-
Animals in the parade must be listed on the entry application. All animals must have updated vaccinations and be in good medical health and be able to cope with crowds and other animals. The City of Dublin is NOT responsible for cleaning up after the animal. You must provide someone to immediately clean up after the animal. Violators of this rule will be removed from the parade.
-
The parade begins promptly at 11 a.m. Due to the size of the parade and traffic limitations, motorized units should be in position by 9:30 a.m. Walking units should be in position by 10 a.m.
-
Although the parade ends at Waterford Drive in Historic Dublin, motorized units must continue along Waterford Drive through Waterford Village back to Metro Center WITHOUT STOPPING to keep the entire parade moving.
-
Walking units may disperse at Waterford Drive.
-
Please have a pre-arranged pick-up spot for parade participants at Metro North and South. There is a police officer at the North Information Tent for lost children.
