Gilger Named City of Dublin Economic Development Manager

Colleen GilgerDublin, OH –The City of Dublin has announced a new position in the Department of Economic Development to be filled by City of Dublin veteran Colleen Gilger.

Gilger has served the City of Dublin for the past 12 years –the last eight as Economic Development Administrator.

According to Deputy City Manager Dana McDaniel, Gilger will have the opportunity to develop and grow the City’s economic development initiatives and oversee the City’s economic development team, including two additional economic development administrators.

“Colleen's comprehensive understanding of economic development, track record of providing proven results in a demanding, high pace organization and extensive knowledge of Dublin's business climate and economy were instrumental in her selection,” said McDaniel. “She has helped to build many of the City's economic development incentive and broadband programs. Additionally, she has well established relationships and networks in the regional business, real estate and development communities. I know Colleen will continue to add great value to Dublin's ability to assist our businesses and keep Dublin competitive at the regional, national and global levels.”

Gilger recently earned the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), a national recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic  development, professional attainment and a commitment to personal and professional growth.  

The CEcD exam was administered by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) on January 22 and 23 in San Diego, CA at The Westin San Diego. 

As highly competent economic development practitioners, Certified Economic Developers work with public officials, business leaders and community members to create leadership to build upon and maximize the economic development sector.  Excellence in the economic development profession improves the well being, quality of life and opportunities for individuals, businesses  and communities. There are currently 1,250 CEcDs in the United States.
