Dublin Police Officer given Award of Merit

DUBLIN (Ohio)The Dublin Division of Police will be awarding Officer Kevin Rickenbacher an Award of Merit at the Monday, Feb. 28 City Council Meeting for his role in the apprehension of an attempted murder suspect on Dec. 14, 2010.

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 9 in partnership with Central Ohio Crime Stoppers also announced that Officer Rickenbacher’s actions will be honored as “Officer of the Month” for February.   

Officer Rickenbacher is being recognized for his apprehension of attempted murder suspect Melissa Stredney, who allegedly shot her former fiancé in the parking lot of NCO Financial Systems on Frantz Rd. last December.

A ceremony, recognizing Officer Rickenbacher as “Officer of the Month” will be held at the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Fire Union Hall, 379 W. Broad Street in Columbus, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2.

Officer Rickenbacher has been a member of the Dublin Division of Police since April 1990.
