Dublin receives ‘Well Deserved’ award from UnitedHealthcare
(DUBLIN, Ohio) - UnitedHealthcare has presented the City of Dublin the annual “Well Deserved” award for 2010, an honor given to employers who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to helping their employees improve their health and well-being throughout worksite wellness programs.
The City developed Healthy by Choice, an employee wellness program in 2006. This program promotes the philosophy that wellness and prevention must be inseparably linked to the healthcare plan design. Employees must be partners in their healthcare coverage and stewards of their own health. Healthy by Choice offers a variety of wellness courses, screenings and programs for employees of the City.
“This year’s ‘Well Deserved’ award winners have developed onsite wellness programs that demonstrate a true commitment to improving their employees’ quality of life and promoting healthful behaviors,” said Carol Calvin, RN, MS, CPQH and national director of UnitedHealthcare Health and Wellness. “Employers that help their employees reduce their health risks and enhance their use of recommended preventive care services play a critical role in improving our health care system.”
The City was one of only ten organizations to receive this award. Other organizations receiving this award include:
