Through voluntary compliance, cooperation, and a spirit of personal responsibility for the well-being of our community, conditions that create code violations can be eliminated and will make the City of Dublin an even better place to live.
The basis of the Code Enforcement program rests upon each of us acting as good neighbors. We all have property rights that protect us; however, the term "property rights" also implies that a property owner has certain responsibilities. No property within the city may be used or maintained in a manner, which reduces the value, use, enjoyment or safety of one’s own or surrounding property.

Grass Height
When does mowing season begin and end?
Noxious weeds and grass must be mowed regularly from March 1 to October 31.
What is the maximum grass height?
Grass is allowed to be no taller then 6 inches.
Will I receive a violation notice if my lawn exceeds a height of 6 inches?
Yes, owners of properties that do not comply will receive a notice from the City to cut or mow the weeds/grass within five days.
Peddler/Solicitor
Does a solicitor or peddler need a permit?
Yes, all solicitors must obtain a permit from the Office of Code Enforcement to sell any products or seek donations in the City of Dublin.
Where is a solicitor or peddler permit obtained?
Permits are obtained from Land Use and Long Range Planning at 5800 Shier-Rings Road.

What hours are peddlers/solicitors allowed to operate?
Peddling and soliciting is prohibited in any manner or place between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. or on any Sunday or holiday.
No Disturb Zones
What is prohibited in the No Disturb Zone at the back of my property?
A No Disturb Zone (NDZ) is an area set aside and platted to maintain a natural landscape buffer. Permanent and portable structures are prohibited within the NDZ. Adding or removing plants such as shrubs, sod or mulch is also prohibited.
What is prohibited in the No Build Zone to the rear of my property?
A No Build Zone (NBZ) is a designated area located in the rear of a property which is to remain free of any permanent or portable structures including but not limited to sheds, pools, satellite antennae, and fences.
Patio, Deck or Fence Inspections
What inspections do I need for my patio, deck or fence?
Periodic inspections may be required during construction, and a final inspection must be scheduled to ensure compliance with applicable permits. These inspections ensure that contractors are following City requirements and that any necessary changes to the approved plans are properly reviewed and approved.
I don’t think an inspection was ever requested and the work was completed a long time ago, is it too late?
No, an inspection can still be scheduled, please contact Code Enforcement at 614-410-4647. You do not need to have any of the permit information when you call; we can look up the information from your address.
