BriHi

Web site

When completed, BriHi Square will offer office and retail destinations at the northwest corner of Bridge and High streets in the historic district. Work will begin this summer with completion expected in 2009.

Central Dublin Section

Ideas generated by the Mobile Workshop to Greenville, SC were discussed by City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission at a joint meeting on December 1, 2007.  Planning and Engineering were asked to develop a plan that would identify existing and proposed development projects, areas that remain to be developed, suggestions for connecting projects physically and visually, and recommendations for prioritizing City initiatives through a comprehensive and coordinated strategy.  The result is the Central Dublin Section of the SR 161 Corridor Strategic Development Plan and the identification of three subareas, the River, Core and Ravine.  The area is bounded generally by I-270 to the north and west and by the eastern edge of the Stratford/Vrable development site. The southern boundary extends to the southern limits of the Historic District and along the southern edge of Waterford Commons and the Dublin Plaza Shopping Center.  The diverse, but related issues associated with traffic, land use, development character and the integration of private development efforts in this area illustrate the need for coordinated and strategic development decisions.  As a result of the February 9, 2009, joint work session with City Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Architectural Review Board, further visioning will take place in the next few months to help define this portion of the SR 161 Corridor Strategic Development Plan.

Grounds of Remembrance

Grounds of Remembrance in Dublin Veterans Park is a lasting tribute to the men and women who have served our country in war and peace. Designed as a place for reflection and contemplation, the Grounds of Remembrance is a place to recognize the sacrifices made by those who defended America’s freedom and by those who waited at home for their return.  Inspired by research from the City’s history book, Dublin’s Journey, the Veterans Park is located along the Indian Run in Historic Dublin and is approximately one acre in size.  It is bordered by passive parkland, the Dublin Public Library, the Indian Run Cemetery and Dublin Road.  Grounds of Remembrance will be dedicated on Memorial Day 2009.

Waterford Village

Contained on 5.5 acres, the Waterford Village development includes 25 townhouse units located on both sides of Monterey Drive, a 12,000-square-foot commercial building on the south side of West Bridge Street, and 0.8 acre of open space. The development’s stormwater is managed with a bio-retention basin located in the center of the townhome units on the west side of Monterey Drive and utilizes a combination of plant material and a particular soil composition to meet  stormwater quality and quantity requirements.

Wayfinding

The initial public input portion of the Wayfinding project has been completed. Planning, Engineering, and the Office of the City Manager have reviewed initial materials developed from that process and have provided feedback to the consultant.  The current focus of the project is to address immediate needs for a coordinated wayfinding design that facilitates efficient movement to public parking in the District.
