Zoning Compliance

Zoning Compliance

Inspection Process

Voluntary compliance is our objective (short of preventing violations).

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of zoning conditions, approved plans, development texts and other applicable regulations.

  • Correspondence may precede inspection to inform the property owner.

  • Perform inspections to assess compliance.

  • Report is created and provided to the property owner listing the areas of non-compliance. Marked-up plans, aerials and other information may be used to help communicate compliance objectives.

  • Compliance dates are set by the inspector.  In many cases, a timeline or phasing plan is created through input from the property owner.  This allows property owners to budget these costs and make progress towards compliance.

  • Outstanding issues are directed to Code Enforcement supervisor
