Zoning Compliance

Zoning Compliance

Inspection Process

Voluntary compliance is our objective (short of preventing violations).

  1. Conduct a thorough analysis of zoning conditions, approved plans, development texts and other applicable regulations.

  2. Correspondence may precede inspection to inform the property owner.

  3. Perform inspections to assess compliance.

  4. Report is created and provided to the property owner listing the areas of non-compliance. Marked-up plans, aerials and other information may be used to help communicate compliance objectives.

  5. Compliance dates are set by the inspector.  In many cases, a timeline or phasing plan is created through input from the property owner.  This allows property owners to budget these costs and make progress towards compliance.

  6. Outstanding issues are directed to Code Enforcement supervisor.
