June 23 incident not an attempted child abduction
After an extensive investigation Dublin Police have determined a June 23 incident was a misunderstanding, not an attempted child abduction.
Police interviewed a suspect that had been described by two Dublin children, who said the man approached them in his vehicle and spoke to them. Police and the parents of both children are satisfied the incident was just a misunderstanding. The investigation has been closed.
After the reported incident, Dublin Police took the precautionary steps of alerting the public to the possibility of an attempted abduction. With the case closed, Police thank the public for information that assisted them in the investigation.
