Dublin Police promote Farmer to Services Bureau Commander Post
(DUBLIN, Ohio) – The Dublin Division of Police has promoted Steve Farmer to the position of lieutenant. Lt. Farmer will be taking over as the Division’s new Services Bureau Commander.
Lt. Farmer was hired May 1997 as a police officer and then promoted to the rank of corporal in Nov. 2003. He became a sergeant in January 2005 and was tapped as the Division’s accreditation manager in 2009. He also serves as a trainer in firearms and defensive tactics.
“Lt. Farmer has demonstrated a passion and dedication to providing for the safety of our community,” said Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg. “He has 14 years of experience with the Division of Police and is a great asset to the City.”
Additionally, Lt. Farmer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Psychology from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and is currently in the Master of Business Administration program at Franklin University.
“I plan to continue providing excellent service to the community through the community education unit, the detective bureau and special events,” said Lt. Farmer. “As part of a new administration, I look forward to new opportunities to positively impact the growth of the Division.”
