Targeted Traffic Enforcement Zones
In 2007, the Dublin Division of Police has implemented a goal of maintaining traffic safety throughout the City by reducing traffic crashes and responding effectively to other traffic concerns.
Some of the major strategies and initiatives being implemented by the police division are to 1) reduce traffic crashes in the top traffic crash areas in the city; 2) reduce speeds in those areas and neighborhoods where speeding has been identified as a problem; and 3) direct or target traffic enforcement efforts to those areas and times where traffic crashes and speeding problems are occurring.
In an effort to better educate the motoring public and citizens of Dublin, the Dublin Division of Police is publishing the areas where directed and targeted traffic enforcement are occurring. Our hope is that citizens will voluntarily comply with the traffic laws and regulations in an effort to reduce speeding and aggressive driving. The overall goal being to improve the safety of the motoring public. Just because certain areas are being targeted does not mean the Dublin Division of Police will not be highly visible in other locations and/or carrying out policing and traffic enforcement services in other areas of the community. We want to work with the motoring public and the citizens of our community to make Dublin a safer place to live and drive in.
