Winter Water Fitness Schedule (PDF)
Shallow Water Fitness
An aerobic workout in the pool can benefit you more than working out on
land. You use every muscle in your body each time you perform an exercise
in the water. Combine weight resistance, aerobic activity and flexibility in a
great 50-minute, total body workout. Use this workout to cross-train for any
sport.
Deep Water Fitness
This 50-minute cardiovascular workout improves your range of motion and
muscular strength with no impact on the joints. The class uses different
flotation devices to assist you in a total body workout. Kick, tread and scull
your way to a fit body. You will find this class especially challenging to the
abs and thighs. Participants must be comfortable in deep water with no
support. Knee and hips injuries don’t get punished from constant pounding.
River Romp
This class is taught in the lazy river of the leisure pool. You use the strong
currents to gain even more water resistance then you would in our other
Aquacize classes. Due to the nature of the class and the 87 degree water, if
you have uncontrolled High blood Pressure or could be pregnant you should
not take this class. You must wear water shoes so you don’t cut the bottom
of your feet.
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Exercise Program
This class is designed for individuals with arthritis. It is not intended to
replace a prescribed regimen of therapeutic exercises. The warmth and
buoyancy of the water can help decrease pain and/or stiffness and help
improve or maintain joint flexibility. The Leisure Pool is kept at a warmer
temperature and allows for easy access. The class takes place in shallow
water so you do not need to know how to swim to participate. All of our
instructors are certified through the Arthritis Association.
Please remember to check with your doctor before starting any exercise
program.
