Group Fitness Classes
The DCRC offers land fitness, water fitness, and Spinning® classes. Current
class schedules are available at the DCRC front desk, fitness desk, and below. The DCRC reserves the right to cancel the class or
change the class format to meet member needs and requests. A shortened
schedule of classes often is offered during times of low participation, i.e.
holidays or City of Dublin events. Upon written request, patrons may
transfer the balance of pass uses to others. Requests should be directed to the
Fitness Supervisor for approval. Sharing a pass is not permitted. Group
fitness passes do not expire, are non-refundable, and are not prorated.

Fitness Testing
MetaCheck
The MetaCheck measures a person’s resting metabolic rate with a simple 12-minute breath test. The technology once reserved for hospitals and universities is now available in a low cost, easy-to-use system! Testing metabolic rates will determine exactly how many calories a person may eat and still lose or maintain weight. No more charts, averages, or guessing. For the first time in years, there is something truly new for the thousands of people who are trying to lose weight.

CardioCoach
The CardioCoach delivers simple and accurate fitness testing. It measures key data including peak VO2, anaerobic threshold, and the precise amount of calories burned at all exercise heart rate levels. This data can be used as the foundation for customized exercise programs that truly meet the needs of the individual. One session with the CardioCoach empowers clients with the ability to meet their fitness goals efficiently and safely with no unnecessary fatigue or wasted time.

Bod Pod
Body composition (percent fat
and lean) reflects the results of
both physical activity and
nutritional practices. Body
weight alone can be very
misleading. The scale cannot tell
the difference between a pound
of fat and a pound of muscle.
Over time, people tend to gain
fat and lose muscle without an obvious change in their weight. And, even
though we need a certain amount of fat in our bodies to insure good health,
excess body fat has been found to increase the risk of diseases such as cancer,
diabetes, and heart disease. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) has now declared obesity an epidemic, with 61% of adult
Americans either overweight or obese (having excess body fat). On the other
hand, too little body fat can also pose a number of health risks, especially for
women. Only by accurately measuring body composition will you learn the
amount of fat and lean tissue that makes up your weight, enabling sensible
decisions regarding nutrition and exercise programs. It’s the best way to get
the “whole picture”of what’s really going on in your body.
