Preschool participants learn about balance, attention and motion. Children learn the basic exercises of traditional karate in a group setting, making new friends and improving their coordination. Parent participation required.

Karate/Beginners
This introductory class covers 30 basic upper and lower body techniques (kihon). Additional course work includes basic self defense, break falls and rolls. No prior experience is required. All participants receive a course manual. Instructors provide information on gi (uniform) and IWKA membership (additional fee).

Karate/Intermediate
This novice class is intended for students with some prior experience or who have completed the beginner class curriculum. Instruction includes the continued study and practice of kihon, introduction to kata (prearranged fight sequences) and introduction of kumite (sparring). Instructors provide information on sparring equipment and belt promotion (additional fee).

Karate/Advanced
Advanced course work includes the ongoing study and practice of kihon, advanced kata, bunkai (application of kata), and kobudo (weapons training) with bo and sai. Minimum prerequisites include a working knowledge of at least five kata’s by matriculation, or permission of the instructor. Students must be at least 16 years of age to ear full adult black belt status. Instructors provide information on equipment and belt promotion (additional fee).
