Dublin’s summer service is on a roll!
Our active community revs up its service efforts when summertime comes around. Events, festivals, recreation programs and summer office projects couldn't happen without armies of Dublin volunteers who step forward to help.
Camp Project LEED is a middle school recreation camp that combines recreation and volunteer service throughout the summer. Scores of middle schoolers are busy volunteering individually in our children’s recreation camps and performing group service projects both in Dublin and throughout central Ohio.
Dublin Teen Corps is our “Youth in Government” learn-and-serve corps of high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. They have kicked off their summer learning about our form of government, government operations and careers, all while spending their time serving others in government offices, programs and community initiatives.
Parks Projects- June kicked off with several hundred volunteers ridding invasive species from our parks, and more efforts to keep us truly “greener” will be happening all
throughout the summer.
Here are ways you learn, serve and engage through volunteer
service this summer:
Dublin Farmers’ Market-Every Wednesday evening through October. Volunteers help with set up, tear down, collect donations for the Dublin Food Pantry, and offer directional and informational assistance. E-Mail cnardecchia@dublin.oh.us
Annual Mike Utt Scioto River Clean Up- Saturday, August 14. Keeping our waterways clean requires the efforts of everyone, year-round. But this is one of a few times where you can walk/wade in the river and, with the help of volunteers, pull out what doesn't belong there. Contact cnardecchia@dublin.oh.us
Neighborhood Park Spruce Ups: Want to get the neighborhood together to keep your natural areas and park spaces looking brilliant for all to enjoy? Set up a volunteer project day to pick up debris, do some weeding, or work with our horticulture experts to keep plant life healthy. E-Mail cnardecchia@dublin.oh.us to register.
